Baratta Station

Baratta Station is located 80km north-east of Carrieton, SA, in the North-East Pastoral zone. Spanning 34,000 hectares, Baratta Station serves as the primary breeding block. The land’s low vegetable matter supports the growth of high-quality clean wool and also offers excellent breeding conditions, with abundant, nutritious forage for breeding ewes to produce top-quality lambs.

Witchitie Station

Witchitie was acquired in 2023 and is currently used to graze breeding ewes. The property is a great addition to Baratta Pastoral operations, strategically located just off Buckalowie Creek. This prime location enhances Baratta Pastoral's capacity to produce high-quality Merino wool, Merino lambs and fast-maturing crossbred lambs. The rich and diverse pasture supports optimal breeding conditions, ensuring ewes are in excellent condition, promoting fertility, and leading to strong lambing outcomes. When seasons permit, the property also allows for diversification into cattle.

Michael’s & Eurilpa

In 2021 Baratta Pastoral expanded into pastoral country between Baratta and Coolatoo. This parcel of land supports the operations of Baratta Pastoral without disrupting the breeding and farming programs. Michael’s has natural springs that allows for some major goat activity. Similar vegetation to Witchitie, Michael’s and Eurilpa have capacity to accomodate large numbers of livestock.

Both properties have new yards and developments along with large dams, making it an extremely advantageous addition to the other properties.

Coolatoo

Coolatoo is situated 20km southeast of Jamestown and compliments Baratta Station by providing an advantageous environment for weaned lambs and surplus sheep. Situated in the productive Belalie East valley, Coolatoo benefits from favourable climate conditions that make it ideal for a diverse and productive cropping program. The property’s well-structured soil supports the cultivation of both cereal and fodder crops, contributing significantly to the overall output of Baratta Pastoral.
